| "About John Goudge Band John Goudge Band is a group of experienced & talented musicians led by West Auckland singer/songwriter & performer John Goudge. Their song Coma has made number 1 on the Amplifier.co.nz main chart (April 2008). John and band are due to 'gig' again after a stint in the recording studio working on the album. This very exciting project is being produced at Beaver Studios by award winning producer Simon Holloway. Expect the album later in the year. In 2007 the band released a very limited edition 6-track EP, 'the Wind and the Rain,' and in 2006, the live recording 'for the record.' The group was adjudged “the most outstanding band” in ALT TV’s Top of the Rocks competition at Space Bar in 2006. The flexibility of the band allows it to play in a number of different configurations, depending on the venue & type of music needed. The band is equally at home in a rowdy Irish pub as it is in a vineyard, or performing a show in a theatre. The music of John Goudge is original & engaging. It can easily sweep from rock to pop to jazz, all in the same set. And to see the band live is a treat—all that energy on stage.. The band can also serve up a mix of cover songs if required.
