About this event:The launch concert for the album Fool Circle will be a theatrical portrayal of the album by singer/songwriter John Goudge and his versatile band. John says he plans to take the audience on a journey through music & theatre.“All my songs are stories, so I thought it would be a good idea to act them out, as well as sing them,” John says. “I’m going to try to unleash the fool, & let him entertain the audience.” Each person in the audience will receive a free copy of Fool Circle. Inspiration for the album came from diverse sources; like a Shakespearean fool he once played, & the scenic beauty of Piha & the Waitakere Ranges. His music, therefore, is also diverse, sweeping wildly from blues to funk, rock to folk, & pop to jazz. The album will be officially released on April Fools’ Day, 1 April 2010, with the launch concert at Titirangi Theatre on Saturday 3 April.
